This three session class will guide you through the Sunset Mesa Cowl by Jennifer Berg. Taught by Vincent Williams of Visuvio's Crafts, students will learn the following:
- Swatching in the round
- Tensioning Styles for two and three color stranded colorwork
- Introduction to helpful colorwork tools (for example, a Norwegian knitting thimble)
- Reading colorwork charts
- Troubleshooting errors within colorwork
- Blocking colorwork
- How colorwork is used in different kinds of projects
- And so much more!
Prerequisites:
This is an advanced beginner/intermediate class. Students should be comfortable knitting, purling and joining in the round.
Materials needed:
- Sunset Mesa Cowl Pattern by Jennifer Berg (can be purchased through Ravelry or Etsy)
- US 7 / 24” circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
- Two - 100 g hanks worsted or DK weight yarn in contrasting colors. We recommend Malabrigo Rios, Manos del Uruguay Maxima, Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok, Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, Urth Uneek Worsted, or Junction Fiber Mill Making Tracks.
*Yarn must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive 10% off the cost of materials for the class.
Class Policies: Payment guarantees your spot in the class. Payment may be made in the store, over the phone, or through our website. Unless noted, supplies are not included in the class fee. Cancellations: If you need to cancel your registration, store credit will be given for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the beginning of a class; no refunds will be given if the cancellation is less than 7 days. Refunds are not given for missed classes.
