FIBER CHARACTERISTICS
Targhee sheep from Montana and South Dakota provide their distinctively thick and heavy fleeces for Arbor. This American breed is a finewool, bearing the softness of its distant Merino ancestry, but with durability enhanced by additional longwool genetics. Targhee wool has an especially elastic quality that, when combined with worsted-spun construction, produces plush yet sturdy fabrics suitable for next-to-skin wear.
DYE PROCESS
Arbor is spun from undyed white wool, then skein dyed after spinning into a saturated palette of solid hues that let textured stitches and cables shine, create crisp colorwork, and highlight the natural luster of the wool fibers.
GAUGES
Arbor’s springy worsted-spun construction is suitable for a wonderful range of gauges and can be used interchangeably with Dapple:
5¼ – 6 stitches to 1"
Suggested Needle: 3.75 - 4.5 mm (US 5-7)
Suggested Hook: 4.5 - 5.5 mm (US 7 - I-9)
